About and Awards

     Call making is my passion and where my interest in woodworking and turkey hunting collide.  Making turkey and game calls is a art but I consider myself a Craftsman.  I try to make the best call I can today and them tomorrow I'll try to make a better one.  

     My focus is on realistic turkey sounds and the fine details.  When you pick up one of my calls or strikers I hope your first impression is the quality and then once you run the call I hope you love the sound. 

     My work shop is in the Heartland of Indiana which is Eastern turkey country.  The pursuit of the wild turkey is a lifestyle, not just an annual spring adventure.  I have traveled the Country field testing my calls and have completed the NWTF Grand Slam.  I enjoy volunteering with the NWTF and I'm President of the Johnson County Gobblers and on the Indiana State NWTF Board.  

     I make the turkey calls one at a time, from high quality woods.  Each call is matched with a striker, tuned by me and no call leaves the shop until it meets all quality standards.

     Mad Baron turkey calls are field proven and made to hunt!  It's special to make someone a turkey call then later see pictures of their success!

     I enter a few call making competitions each year and the NWTF Grand Nationals.  I enjoy call making competitions and any awards I'm lucky enough to win.  What matters the most is what you think and the wild turkey is the final judge!
